about

I wrote this song for my mother in September when I found out she was diagnosed with cancer. I'm happy to report 2 years later she is doing wonderfully and is more vibrant than ever.

lyrics

When the shadows grow long and the summer fades
When the leaves all turn and start to fall
In the September skies I see your face
And on the wind I hear you call

Its always here I can find you
On the edge of the fading light
And its here I can feel that your near me
In the September skies

Walk the shoreline and watch the water flow
Hold my breath and let you go

Its still hard not to miss you
Hard not to wonder why
And its always here I can find you
On the edge of the fading light
And its here I can feel that you're near me
In the September skies
September skies
September skies

When my days grow dark and the curtain's drawn
When the last rays of sun are all but gone
That's when I'll come to meet you
On the edge of the fading light
That's the moment when my soul
Will float like a bird in flight
To that distant crystal horizon
Where there are no goodbyes
Somewhere far beyond these September skies
